 A Typical Juventutem Meeting Day
Morning :
|
|
|
Holy Mass will be celebrated inside a church near our camp.
Lectures:
Each morning, there will be lectures in which to learn about the Faith. Each speaker will spend about 45 minutes speaking on a particular topic, followed by 15 minutes of discussion. Like the late afternoon lectures, it will be possible to choose from several lecture topics. This will be a special time to improve your knowledge about the WYD theme and to prepare yourself to be a missionary in the second week.

At the camp:
For those who are staying at the camp: you will have time to meet priests, monks, nuns or lay lecturers and discuss issues of interest with them.
Some lectures are also planned about lives of the Saints and the presentations of some faith witnesses, such as converts.
Outside of the camp:
• Visits to the Abbey of Weingarten :
Saint Martin of Weingarten basilica is an important pilgrimage site, because of its Precious Blood relics. Weingarten is the most important horse pilgrimage of Europe and a major Baroque basilica.
• Cafés-Catés :
Cafés-Catés are an informal and cosy way to have a lecture: they will take place within a café of a local town (Lindau, Scheidegg or Lindenberg) and it will also be possible to visit these beautiful locations after the lecture.
• Walks across the mountain :
These walks will allow you to admire wonderful views and have a very enjoyable time trekking across little mountain paths.
A priest will come with each group and the Rosary will be prayed while walking.
• Two special day-trips for overseas travellers :
We are planning day trips to Schwangau and Wies Church :
Schwangau is the King Ludwig II castles area: you will have time to visit and admire the magnificent view from Neuschwanstein castle and walk around across the mountain. You will explore the famous Schwansee and afterwards, you will go to the Wies pilgrimage church, a jewel of the Baroque age, UNESCO classified.

The second day trip will include a tour around Constance lake: more details to follow.
During both these day-trips, you will pray the Rosary and attend two spiritual or artistic lectures.

Evenings :

Lecture series similar to the morning lectures.
Dinner
Holy Hour at Lindenberg basilica, a musical entertainment evening, a Bavarian evening, and on the last day we will have an evening of prayers for the Vigil of the Assumption.
10 :15 pm : Complines
